To Put It In Words: To Write It Down
This page is a personal reference to chronicle my past Depeche Mode cover songs, and the video tutorials I used to learn them. The goal of this page is to document my progress, learn from past mistakes, and most importantly to improve my Depeche Mode covers over time.
Unless you’re a glutton for punishment, or you enjoy listening to novice piano players with poor timing I would suggest checking out the other covers and remixes on this site.
Vote For Martin: “It Doesn’t Matter Two” (Depeche Mode Cover) NOVICE PLAYER 1st Cover
I learned It Doesn’t Matter Two from HAJP’s YouTube page and I also purchased the sheet music from his site. He was kind enough to listen to my rendition and gave me some very constructive feedback. I also shortened the song because in my opinion 2 or 3 minutes is about the maximum someone wants to listen to a novice player.
Vote For Martin: “Little 15” (Depeche Mode Cover) NOVICE PLAYER 2nd Cover
I also learned Little 15 from HAJP’s YouTube page and purchased the sheet music from his site as well. I feel like I’m slightly better on this cover, but I wish I knew more about how to pick and edit samples. I’m using Roland’s Sweet Keys sample without editing the attack, resonance, cutoff, or release. It sounds ok for a novice, but I think this is an area I can definitely improve on. I also shortened the song because in my opinion 2 or 3 minutes is about the maximum someone wants to listen to a novice player.
